This is what Smile Proud collects, what we do with it, and what we don’t. Written in English, not legalese — because it should be understandable, not just enforceable.

Smile Proud is published by Scout Theory LLC, a limited liability company registered in Ohio, USA. When we say “we,” “us,” or “Smile Proud,” we mean Scout Theory LLC.
We collect two kinds of information:
Contact form messages: we read them and reply to them. That’s it. We don’t sell them, we don’t add you to a marketing list without asking, we don’t share them with third parties.
Newsletter emails: we send you the newsletter you signed up for. You can unsubscribe with one click from any email we send.
Analytics data: we use it in aggregate to understand which stories people read, where readers come from, and how the site is performing — the same way any magazine looks at its own numbers.
We use Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies on your device to measure site usage. If you don’t want to be tracked by Google Analytics, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on or use a browser that blocks it.
We may also use cookies from affiliate networks to correctly attribute referrals to third-party clinics or platforms we recommend. These do not track your browsing behavior across the web.
We use a small handful of standard third-party services to run the site:
Each of these has their own privacy policy that applies to the data they receive.
You have the right to know what information we hold about you, to correct it, and to ask us to delete it. Just email andy@colombiamedical.co and we’ll handle it inside a few days.
If you’re in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR/CCPA. We honor all of them — email us with what you need.
Smile Proud is not directed at anyone under 16. We don’t knowingly collect information from minors. If you’re a parent who thinks we may have collected information from your child, email us and we’ll delete it.
If we materially change this policy, we’ll update the “last updated” date at the top and, for substantial changes, note it on the site. Continued use after that means you accept the changes.
Privacy questions or requests: andy@colombiamedical.co.
If you submit a patient-matching form and explicitly consent, your inquiry may be shared with up to 3 relevant dental providers so they can respond. General contact messages and newsletter signups are not treated as provider-sharing consent. Participating providers may compensate the network for introductions.
